Diana. The perfect teenage mix of bubbly, happy, 100% positive personality. And yet, when you look into her eyes, there is this hidden longing. Pain of the world, which one can only feel at 16 years of age.
I decided to try my hand (and eye) in classic portraiture. This shoot was an exercise from a fantastic book by Chris Orwig “People Pictures”. The idea is to go back to basics. One camera, one lens (I used a 50mm) set to manual focusing and wide open (mine was at 1.4), one location, one model, 10 minutes. Aim at capturing the personality.
